EUDORA WRESTLING PHILOSOPHY 2006-2007 |

| As we enter my sixth season
as the Eudora High School wrestling coach, our main concern is to
continue gain RESPECT and continue the winning tradition
for the high school program. We want our team to make a statement
about winning. We want other teams to know that winning is important
to us and we want them to know that no easy victories will come to
them when a Cardinal wrestler is on the mat.
Our outlook this year depends upon how much of a leadership role the upperclassmen are willing to take on. Our entire success centers upon the example that these intervals choose to set. I anticipate having a large class of seniors and that will guide this team both on and off the mat, but we must have some underclassman step up and perform at a high level if we want to be successful. We will have many new faces this year and hopefully, some talented newcomers. I expect that they will make mistakes, but I also expect them to learn from those mistakes. They will develop into fine wrestlers that will become the leaders of our team in years to come. Regardless, the high expectations in place for this program will remain intact. As for the current structure of our team, there are certain individuals that I expect will have outstanding seasons. I expect these individuals to come into the practice room with a hard-working attitude every day and a sincere desire to improve from week to week. They will be the models for our underclassmen. The bottom line is still this - another team may be stronger or more experienced than we are, but they will not outwork us on the mat. Our advantage is our savvy. I expect us to enter each match with the mindset that we will outwork our opponent. With that being said, only good things can happen with this type of attitude. |
